It’s no secret that the way Canadians are receiving healthcare is changing. Whether they are talking to their doctor via Skype, or getting their lab results online, people expect healthcare services to adapt along with their on-the-go lifestyles.
With the introduction of MyVisitTM, LifeLabs brings healthcare services directly to Canadians, where and when they need it.
Performed by a specially-trained LifeLabs technician, MyVisit is a convenient way for patients to have their blood and other medical samples collected at a location and time of their choice. Once collected, their samples are then processed at one of LifeLabs’ 16 major laboratories in Ontario, and the results are sent to the patient’s doctor. Through LifeLabs, patients can also easily access their own results for free through the my results service, an online reporting portal on the LifeLabs website.
Melissa Grelo, co-host of the hit talk show The Social, raves about the service, tweeting: “Revolutionary!! At-home blood tests?!! I can’t even! Now, this is healthcare for the 21st century!”
Currently, MyVisit is offered in select neighbourhoods throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Mississauga, Oakville, and Etobicoke, and, for a limited time, costs just $60 for up to three people to be serviced at the same time and location. Regularly, the service costs $60 per patient, per visit.
Available tests include: collection of blood, urine, ECG, Holter, stool, sputum samples for appropriate OHIP, private pay, Rocky Mountain Analytical hormone, food reaction, and environmental/nutritional testing, and LifeLabs Genetics tests.
