An Overwhelming Response for Yonge Station
2014 was a great year for Pratt Homes’ exciting new residential development Yonge Station. The community is located in Barrie on Yonge Street and consists of condos, townhomes and 8-plexes.
Phase one and two of the site launched in May with overwhelming response. Hundreds of people came and showed appreciation for the incredible public art installations created by world-renowned artist Ron Baird. Yonge Station is the only community in Simcoe County with public art.
They also loved the spectacular location just minutes from the GO Station, grocery store, banks, LCBO and Beer Store and essentially all the amenities you need to live your active life.
Yonge Station was a hit among the public and industry professionals. It won the Simcoe County Home Builder Association Award of Excellence for their website in early June and continued their success by winning the Ontario Home Builder Award of Distinction for Best New Home Sales Office in September.
The success of the grand opening of Yonge Station and strong summer sales led them to release the third and final phase in September. To date, Yonge Station is over 80% sold out with very few townhomes and 8-plexes remaining, as well as a limited supply of condos.
For someone in the Greater Toronto Area, moving to Yonge Station in Barrie is a smart strategy. Statistics Canada ranked Barrie the safest city with a 100,000+ population in the country, and the Real Estate Investment Network ranks it the third-best place to invest.
The mortgage math makes sense; you can get an 800 sq. ft. condo for $226,990 at Yonge Station, in the GTA that could cost up to $500,000. Apparently, size does matter; you get bigger square footage and a smaller mortgage in Barrie.
It pays to be GTA free, plan your exit strategy today at yongestation.ca.
