Excellence In Undergraduate Education
Quest University Canada is Canada’s first independent, not-forprofit, secular university. Quest offers only one degree, a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, and focuses entirely on excellence in
undergraduate education. As the world further transitions from the industrial era into the information age, our education needs to keep pace.
Technical, job-oriented training is no longer sufficient to handle the complex and shifting challenges of the 21st century
Enter the liberal arts and sciences. Consisting of arts, humanities, mathematics, and social, life and natural sciences, the liberal arts and sciences form the basis of a well-rounded education. They allow one to develop critical thinking, intellectual breadth, and an informed, worldly perspective — they allow one to really think.
In seminar classes (with 20 students or fewer), students examine one area of human inquiry after another on a Block Plan — taking one course at a time for three-and-ahalf weeks. Students learn to focus on one discipline in a short period of time, which is an important skill in today’s world.
Our Foundation and Concentration programs are a fresh approach to the classic liberal arts and sciences. A learning experience is most meaningful when it aligns naturally with one’s sense of wonder and passion. Therefore, at Quest we do not limit your options of study to pre-chosen “majors”; instead, after completing the Foundation Program you create a Question for yourself that directs your Concentration Program — your final two years of study.
By crossing traditional boundaries and developing valued habits of mind, a Quest education develops students into effective problem solvers and lifelong learners.
