The Future Is In Your Hands. Don’t Let It Go To Waste.
Today, we live and thrive in a technologically driven world. Our devices are integrated into our lives and keep us connected and informed. As technology evolves and changes, we’re always looking for the latest and greatest in tech. But what happens to our old devices and electronics when we’re done with them? Do they still have value?
In fact, devices like our smart phones are filled with precious metals. One tonne of recycled smartphones yields 324 times more gold than the same weight in ore from a traditional mine. And, when we recycle the same weight in laptops, we save the energy equivalent of powering 710 Ontario homes for one year.
If we want to protect our environment and ensure responsible recycling of our electronics, it’s far better for the environment and more efficient to “above ground mine” the devices we’re done with.
In fact, about 96.7% of us live within 10kms of a collection depot for electronics, so recycling them and preserving our natural environment has never been easier.
Since the Recycle My Electronics program started in 2009, approximately 75 million devices have been successfully diverted from landfill in Ontario.
The earth is reaching out for your help. Will you answer the call?
