The Sounds Of Jazz Will Fill Toronto This Summer!
Imagine dancing on the steps of City Hall as the sounds of the Count Basie Orchestra serenade you. When the TD Toronto Jazz Festival kicks-off this summer from June 18 – June 29, the Orchestra and more than 1,500 other musicians will entertain over 500,000 music-lovers in 350+ concerts as blues, jazz, Latin, and funk collide for 12 glorious days.
For more intimate performances, Koerner Hall will play host to three of jazz’s biggest names — vocal powerhouses Jamie Cullum and Kurt Elling, along with guitar maestro John Pizzarelli.
The Festival also takes over the Jazz Bistro presenting the finest in live music, from pianist Renee Rosnes, Freddy Cole and Fred Hersch to saxophone giant Phil Dwyer.
Looking for jazz with a little more oomph? The legendary Horseshoe Tavern has you covered, offering musicianship at its finest with guitar hero Mike Stern and vocalists Garland Jeffreys and Sonny Knight.
Festival options are plentiful when it comes to free programming. Explore the historic Distillery District, the open-air centre of Shops at Don Mills or spend the day at Nathan Phillips Square as the Festival presents more than 50 free concerts in these select locations. Perfect for families and any budget size!
