Out On The Town for August 2015
August always starts out with a bang and ends with a bang in our city! We have one more month of summer and it’s going to be hot …hot…hot! Bright colours, amazing eats, wild entertainment and fun rides! It is a month to be outdoors and really soak up the sun! Keep hydrated and be sure to always have sunscreen on standby! The 47th Caribana Festival is North America’s largest cultural festival. The exciting parade kicks off August 1st at Exhibition Place and Lakeshore Boulevard and it has to be the most colourful parade of all time! Toronto Food Truck Festival
August 1st – August 2nd
The Toronto’s food truck scene has exploded over the last few years. This festival gives all ages a chance to come out and explore the many different flavours
of our city! So grab a family member, and head out on the ultimate food tour! All the delicious excitement takes place at Woodbine Park.
August 8th – August 16th
The ladies of tennis are back! It’s that time again! The annual Rogers Cup is here and this time the women hit the courts in Toronto and the men head to Montreal. Grab that polo sweater and head to the Rexall Centre to see some of the top athletes in the world including; Caroline Wozniacki, Petra Kvitova and Serena Willams. This event has taken place in Toronto since 1981 and is a must see
The reviews are out and Kinky Boots is a home run and due to the over the top popularity this musical has been extended to November 8th at the Royal Alexander theatre! If you need a night to cool down this is a must see! Drag Queens, brilliant vocals and over the top dancing — winner of 6 Tony Awards, this is a musical you can’t miss!
August 21th – Sept 7th
Take me to the EX … Oh Baby! The CNE is one of North America’s biggest and brightest annual fairs. Take in all the action with live entertainment, parades, food and over 18 amusement rides. This event is fun for the whole family so bring an appetite, lather up the sunscreen and head down to the CNE!
August 27th – August 30th
Downtown Yonge Street explodes with talent! A summer in Toronto wouldn’t be complete without taking in the sights and sounds of the Busker festival! Magicians, artists and the best street performers from around the globe swarm downtown Yonge Street. With over 100 performers it’s time to get inspired, I will see you down there!
Non-stop fun to finish off our summer here in Toronto! I hate to say it but it’s true — summer is coming to an end!
