THE ITALIAN CONTEMPORARY FILM FESTIVAL TO BE BACK IN TORONTO
Everything is set for the launch of the sixth edition of the annual Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) presented by IC Savings, with a lineup of 135 features, shorts and documentaries consisting of many North American premieres.
The annual festival celebrates the best in contemporary Italian cinema from around the world. Over the nine-day Festival from June 8th – June 16th, 2017, these films will show audiences in Toronto, Vaughan, Hamilton and other Canadian cities a wide range of perspectives, all connected by the Italian culture.
In Toronto, the ICFF films will be screened at TIFF Bell Lightbox and at Cineplex Cinemas in Vaughan.
“We’re thrilled to be able to champion these films, and equally excited to be providing an opportunity for audiences to see them at this ever-growing Festival, especially this year with a record number of Canadian cities involved,” said Artistic Director Cristiano de Florentiis. “The array of talented fi lm-making professionals in our program this year is especially impressive, and includes a bright spotlight on features and shorts by Italian Canadian film-makers.”
In past editions, the ICFF has had the pleasure of hosting international film superstars such as Claudia Cardinale, Roberto Benigni, Carlo Verdone, and last year with acclaimed record-breaking actor/comedian Checco Zalone and Italian heartthrob actor Raoul Bova. This year at the ICFF, the one and only Italian actor and comedian Christian De Sica, son of the late legendary film director and multiple Oscar winner, Vittorio De Sica will be our guest.
ICFF 2017 will feature a lavish Opening Party at QRC West on June 8th and a glamorous Closing Gala on June 16th at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Toronto.
Christian De Sica, leading actor of Fräulein and Poveri ma ricchi, will be attending the 2017 festival to present these films.
