TRIMBACH RÉSERVE PINOT GRIS

Straw coloured with an earthy-minerally peach pit nose; medium to full-bodied, off-dry, peach and yellow plum flavours with balancing acidity.

MIGUEL TORRES GRAN VIÑA SOL CHARDONNAY
2012 (Penedès, Spain) $15.95 • Vintages #171660
Pale straw in colour with a lime tint; minerally, apple nose; full-bodied and full on the palate, dry with butterscotch and apple purée flavours. Nicely integrated oak.
Food match: grilled salmon; roast chicken.
PIPOLI AGLIANICO DEL VULTURE
2010 (Basilicata, Italy) $15.95 • Vintages #320507
We don’t see many wines from the Italian region of Basilicata — think the instep of the Italian boot — but this one currently is a great bargain, punching above its weight for its price. Dense purple, it has a nose of cherries and leather and dried herbs. The herb tinged fruit is sweet and the wine is easy drinking.
Food match: red meat dishes; strong cheeses.
JEAN-MAX ROGER CUVÉE SANCERRE BLANC
2012 (Loire Valley) $27.95 • Vintages #196667
A very stylish Sauvignon Blanc, very pale in colour with a lime tint. On the nose, grassy, minerally, green plum. Medium-bodied, crisply dry, very elegant with gooseberry and elderberry flavours.
Food match: oysters; smoked salmon.
