How To Secure A Full Scholarship
At 14 years old, Lewis Cirne was excited and grateful to be enrolling in a private school, made possible only by the financial assistance offered to his family.
Today, an accomplished entrepreneur and philanthropist, Lewis Cirne ’89 greatly credits his alma mater, Trinity College School (TCS) in Port Hope, for his success. “Thanks to the great generosity of people before me, I was able to receive financial aid and come to the school. That never has left my mind.”
As such, Mr. Cirne has chosen to give back, in a big way. His most recent gift to TCS established the Cirne National Scholarships — four merit-based, full-tuition scholarships for Canadian boarding students.
Committed to reducing the financial barriers for families, in addition to its National Scholarship Program, TCS offers assistance to help outstanding applicants who could otherwise not attend. Over $2.5 million in need-based financial assistance (grants that do not have to be repaid) are provided each year. In addition, the School’s Canadian Families Boarding Incentive Program offers a $50,000 incentive for Canadian boarding students entering Grade 9. Tuition payment plans are also available to help spread tuition fees across manageable interest-free installments over the year.
