Humber Continuing Education Gives Job Seekers A Boost
Humber grad Renan Orquiza has only been in Canada for three years, but he’s accomplished a lot in that time. For his volunteerism — including with Professional Engineers Ontario and Credit Valley Conservation — he was named one of RBC’s Top 25 Canadian Immigrants for 2016.
After arriving from the Philippines, Orquiza enrolled in Humber’s four-month Continuing Education Bridging Program, which helps update foreign credentials to Canadian standards. Next, Orquiza obtained his Professional Engineering License and got a job as project manager with Watters Environmental Group INC, an environmental consulting firm in Vaughan.
Continuing Education at Humber College helped pave the way for Orquiza to begin a prestigious career in his new country. With online and part-time courses in everything from Business and Hospitality to Information Technology and the Trades, Continuing Education courses can help you upgrade your skills or learn new ones to stand out in a competitive job market.
