Out On The Town With Mike Chalut
The energy and action of Toronto will never let you down! Happy August! So the weather has been a little unpredictable but the fun is always accessible rain or shine. Big shout out to all the volunteers and the city for putting on amazing Canada 150 events all across the GTA … and the party is just getting started. This is your last month to go on summer adventures. Prince Edward County and Muskoka are hands down my favourite summer weekend getaways that you can enjoy with that special someone or your family. The royals took a wiggle in Prince Edward County and it’s Wine Country, people … it’s always wine o’clock! Some of the most entertaining wine tours are just 2 hours out of our city! Drink up! If you are looking to wiggle here in the GTA have no fear, our team at ONtheGO will keep you busy for the entire month. Get outside and soak up the sun but always have your umbrella on standby … nobody wants a bad hair day!

ATTENTION ALL BIKE RIDERS!
The Don River Book Ride has a focus on mental health, nature and exercise. It will help mobile audiences see the city from a new perspective through the lens of literature. They are planning on cycling eight kilometres starting at the Children’s Peace Theatre, heading along the Taylor Creek Trail to Evergreen Brick Works and then following the Don River Trail to the final destination at Corktown Common. Featured books and authors include: An Enduring Wilderness: Toronto’s Natural Parklands by Robert Burley, Fauna by Alissa York, Any Other Way: How Toronto Got Queer by John Lorinc and Jane Farrow and The Best Place on Earth by Ayelet Tsabari. This year’s book ride encourages participants to reflect on the benefits of nature and improved mental health along with the power of literature to change lives and how we interact with the city. BUYING A NEW HOME IN AUGUST?
There are so many questions about the Toronto housing market so I decided to get some real answers from top real estate agent Corinne Pencer: Is August a good month to buy? YES. Often there is a lull in the market in July but it picks up again in August, as sellers who have had their homes on the market for a while are anxious to sell. And, statistically speaking, this August there will be more homes to choose from than in August 2016, as foreign buyers have been more reluctant to buy with the new foreign buyers tax now in effect. Ask Corinne … corinnepencer.ca.
Enjoy your last month of summer with your family and friends! What is going on in September? You tell me what we need to know. Email me firstname.lastname@example.org and always be ON THE GO!
