Making Your 2016 New Year’s Resolutions?
PLANT TREES FOR YOUR FUTURE HEALTH
“If I knew it would have been so easy and inexpensive, I would have done it years ago,” says Canada’s Favourite Gardener, Mark Cullen. Cullen is one of more than 4,000 landowners across Ontario who has taken advantage of the 50 Million Tree Program, which provides subsidies and practical assistance for planting trees on private property. The 17 million trees planted by Forests Ontario through this program not only enable landowners to increase the value of their property, but also contribute to a healthier environment for all Ontarians by providing cleaner air and water, healthier soils, and offsetting the effects of climate change.
Do you have extra acreage? If so, the government of Ontario’s 50 Million Tree Program makes planting convenient and affordable. Subsidies cover up to 85% of total planting costs. It’s simple.
Landowners with property of 2.5 acres or more may be eligible. Adopt tree planting as your resolution for 2016 so there’s a forest in your future.
